Iterative refinement
Modeling with AI is a conversation, not a single command. This walkthrough builds a part through a sequence of small, confident refinements.
Before you start
- Comfort sending AI prompts
- 1
Rough it in
Start with a prompt that gets you 80% of the way — the base shape and the main features. Do not try to specify everything at once.
- 2
Refine dimensions
Send targeted follow-ups to correct sizes: make the base 5 mm thicker; move the hole 10 mm to the right. Each edits the underlying feature.
- 3
Add finishing features
Layer in fillets, chamfers, and cosmetic details once the main geometry is settled, so selections stay stable.
Tip: Add rounding late. Early cosmetic fillets can make later references harder for the AI to target.
- 4
Review the timeline
Every AI edit is a timeline step. Scan it to see exactly what changed and roll back anything that went the wrong direction.
- 5
Lock it in
When the part is right, keep the parametric history — a future change is one more short message away.
What you built
